New Delhi: The hearing on the rape and murder case of a doctor at Kolkata's RG Kar Medical College has started again in the Supreme Court. A bench of Chief Justice DY Chandrachud and Justice JB Pardiwala and Justice Manoj Mishra is hearing the case.
While hearing the case, the bench also asked several questions to the Bengal government. Along with this, the CJI asked several questions on the status report of the CBI. Later, the CJI directed the CBI to file a fresh status report till the next hearing.
What did the Supreme Court ask?
The Supreme Court wanted to know whether the footage of the search and seizure process carried out from 8:30 pm to 10:45 pm has been handed over to the CBI?
SG Mehta replied that there are 4 clips of total duration of 27 minutes. SG Mehta said that CBI has decided to send the samples to AIIMS and other central forensic laboratories.
23 people died due to doctors' strike
Senior advocate Kapil Sibal told the Supreme Court that the West Bengal government has filed a status report and said that 23 people died when doctors were not working.
