Imphal: The border is on high alert due to the ongoing violence in neighbouring Bangladesh. Meanwhile, the Manipur government on Tuesday imposed night curfew in parts of Pherzawl and Jiribam districts to prevent any illegal infiltration from Bangladesh.

Officials said restrictions will be relaxed in Pherzawl district from 8 am to 4 pm, while in Jiribam it will be relaxed from 9 am to 3 pm.

What is said in the order?

In separate orders issued by the DMs of both the districts, the gathering of five or more persons has been banned. The order states that during the curfew, any person is prohibited from leaving the house. Apart from this, carrying such items which can be used as weapons is also prohibited.
