Kolkata: Big questions have been raised regarding the cremation of the junior female doctor who was brutally raped at Kolkata RG Kar Medical College and Hospital. The mother of the deceased has accused the Kolkata Police and government employees of collusion regarding the cremation.
The mother of the junior woman doctor has written a letter to President Draupadi Murmu, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Bengal Governor Dr CV Anand Bose and Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee complaining that she did not want the immediate cremation of her daughter's body to investigate the incident, but had to do so due to the "over-activity" of the police. This information was given by a close friend of the victim's family.
Protest tomorrow at midnight
A call has been given by the common people of Kolkata to hold a midnight protest on September 4, just like on August 14. The parents of the deceased are also likely to participate in it.
Protesters clash with police
Junior doctors staged a fierce protest in Kolkata on Tuesday demanding the resignation of the Police Commissioner. There was a scuffle between them and the police. The protesters said that the protest will continue until justice is achieved.
