New Delhi: This year the country is going to celebrate its 78th Independence Day on Thursday. On Wednesday, a day before Independence Day, the government has announced the President's medals. This year, a total of 1037 personnel of police, fire brigade, home guards and civil security and correctional services will be awarded gallantry and service medals.

The government awards the President's Medal for Gallantry and the Medal for Gallantry every year for conspicuous gallantry and conspicuous act of bravery in saving life and property, or preventing crime or apprehending criminals.

Home Ministry released names

The Home Ministry has released the names of the people who will receive the medals. From Uttar Pradesh, ADG Suvendra Kumar Bhagal, DIG Kalpana Saxena, Inspector Sugandha Upadhyay and SI Ramveer Singh will be awarded the President's medal.

The Prime Minister will address the nation for the 11th time from the Red Fort

Let us tell you that all the preparations have been made for the program to be held in the capital Delhi on the occasion of Independence Day. On this occasion, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will address the nation by hoisting the tricolor for the 11th consecutive time from the historic Red Fort.
