Based on this footage, the police is trying to connect the links of Raja Raghuvanshi's murder mystery and Sonam's disappearance. Even after 13 days, no trace of Sonam has been found, while Raja's body was recovered on the 9th day below the Double Decker Ghats of Shillong. The family has demanded a CBI inquiry in this case.
When did this horrific accident happen?
Raja and Sonam Raghuvanshi, who got married on May 11, reached Bangalore from Indore on June 20 for their honeymoon. After visiting Maa Kamakhya there, they started their journey to Shillong. They lost contact with their family from June 23. The family informed the Indore police, after which Raja's brother and Sonam's cousin reached Shillong. Madhya Pradesh government ministers Kailash Vijayvargiya and Tulsiram Silawat discussed with the Meghalaya government and started the search. A joint team of Shillong Police and NDRF conducted a search operation amid heavy rain.
Where was the king's body found in Shillong?
On the ninth day of the incident, Raja's body was recovered near Double Decker Hills, 25 km from Shillong. A sharp weapon, Raja's mobile and a rented Activa were also found near the body. After the postmortem in Shillong on Tuesday, Raja's body was brought to Indore by flight on Wednesday. The body was taken home from Indore airport in a special vehicle, where a crowd of relatives, friends and other people gathered. Raja's mother and other women of the family were inconsolable.
What did the family say about Meghalaya Police?
Raja's funeral procession reached Regional Park Muktidham, where his brother Vipin and 7-year-old son lit the funeral pyre. During this, family members and friends raised slogans against the Meghalaya government and demanded a CBI inquiry. Raja's brothers Sachin and Vipin said that initially the Meghalaya police did not cooperate in the search. The investigation gained momentum only after the intervention of the Madhya Pradesh government. Vipin had already suspected kidnapping and murder, which was further confirmed by Raja's body and the knife found nearby.
Kailash Vijayvargiya gave an important statement
Shillong police have registered a case of murder and a special task force is working to find Sonam. The Union Home Ministry has also discussed the matter with the Meghalaya Chief Minister. Cabinet Minister Kailash Vijayvargiya said that if necessary, a CBI inquiry will be conducted. Raja's brother Vipin said that heavy rains hampered the search, but with the help of Shillong police and NDRF, Raja's body was found. However, there is no trace of Sonam yet. Family and friends are treating this incident as a case of kidnapping and murder. (
