News Topical, Digital Desk : Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah gave a new impetus to the state's development and security at a grand event in Haridwar, Uttarakhand, on Saturday. He handed out appointment letters to young people selected for the police department, distributed certificates under the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA), and laid the foundation stone and inaugurated infrastructure projects worth crores of rupees.
At the event, held in the presence of Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, Amit Shah unveiled various development schemes worth a total of ₹427 crore. He laid the foundation stone for 19 new projects worth ₹312 crore, which will transform the district in the future.
Public facilities will be expanded
Union Home Minister Amit Shah dedicated 32 public utility projects completed at a cost of approximately ₹115 crore to the public. These projects primarily include modern roads, improved drinking water systems, education and health infrastructure, which will expand public amenities in Haridwar and surrounding rural areas.
Youth got employment, police force got strengthened
Describing employment generation as a top priority for the central and state governments, the Home Minister personally handed over appointment letters to newly appointed constables of the Uttarakhand Police. Congratulating the newly appointed personnel, he said that a strong and disciplined police force is the foundation of a safe Uttarakhand. The faces of the young people and their families lit up upon receiving their appointment letters.
Historic step: Indian citizenship granted under CAA
The most emotional and significant moment of the event was when Amit Shah presented 'Indian Citizenship Certificates' to five refugees under the Citizenship Amendment Act ( CAA ). The Home Minister proudly said, "This law was enacted to provide a dignified life and constitutional rights to those who have been living in India as refugees for decades. Today, they have officially become citizens of this great nation."
Resolution of double engine government
Addressing the public meeting, Amit Shah said that the "double-engine" government under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi is committed to taking Uttarakhand to new heights of development. He stressed that through the joint efforts of the central and state governments, Haridwar will strengthen its identity on the world stage not only as a spiritual center but also as a modern and developed city.
