News Topical, Digital Desk : Israeli defense policy expert Zaki Shalom has advised his country to learn from India. Zaki says that Israel should also learn something from the way India is standing up to America's tariffs.
Referring to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Zaki Shalom said, “PM Modi's tough stand against the US tariff policy and his response during the India-Pakistan tension teach us that national honour is not a luxury but a huge strategic asset.”
Trump's tariff mentioned
In the last few days, relations between India and America have soured. US President Trump has imposed heavy tariffs on India citing the purchase of oil from Russia. Trump also claimed to bring about a ceasefire between India and Pakistan, which was outright rejected by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Since then, Trump has started showing his attitude against India.
Criticism of Gaza attack
Shalom also criticized the Israeli attack on a hospital in Gaza, which killed 20 people. He said that the different reactions by the Israeli Defense Force (IDF), the Chief of Staff and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu show that everyone wants to pacify international opinion. This attitude highlights their concern and discomfort.
Trump warns Hamas
Let us tell you that the Israel-Hamas war is about to complete 23 months. There has been no agreement on ceasefire between the two till now. On Sunday, Trump issued a warning to Hamas and ordered to release all Israeli hostages. Trump said in clear words that if Hamas does not lay down its arms, it may have to pay heavy consequences.
