Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu on Thursday compared YSRCP chief YS Jagan Mohan Reddy to Colombian drug mafia Pablo Escobar criticized the law and order situation in the state and accused it of allegedly fuelling the drug problem in the last five years.
Releasing a white paper on law and order and marijuana prevalence, Naidu claimed he had never seen the state in a situation like it was during Reddy's rule. "What happened in Andhra can only be compared to one person and that is Pablo Escobar," he said in the Assembly, clearly pointing to the drug problem.

Chandrababu Naidu said that what happened in Andhra Pradesh can only be compared to one person, that person is drug lord Pablo Escobar. According to news agency ANI, Naidu said that Pablo Escobar was a Colombian drug lord. He was a narco-terrorist. Later he came into politics and started using his cartel to sell drugs. He had earned billions of dollars at that time. He was arrested in the year 1976 and in 1980 he became the world's richest drug lord. Andhra Pradesh has emerged as the 'ganja capital'
CM Naidu alleged that a similar situation had arisen in Andhra Pradesh under the YSRCP regime (2019-24), when ganja was allegedly openly available. The chief minister alleged that the southern state had emerged as the ganja capital between 2019 and 2024 and vowed to crack down on it.
