Bengaluru. Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Friday presented documentary evidence to prove that the allotment of sites by the Mysore Urban Development Authority (MUDA) is not illegal. He also said that his political career is an open book. He also said that opposition BJP and JDS are spreading false propaganda against him.

Addressing a press conference at the Assembly, CM Siddaramaiah said the property in question was not allotted to the Dalit family by the government. The family had bought the land in an auction by the government and hence the provisions of the Karnataka Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes Act will not apply in this case.

My political life is an open book

He further said that the opposition is trying to make unnecessary allegations in this matter, it has been 40 years since I became a minister. Till date not even a small stain has been put on me. My political life is an open book. BJP and JD(S) are desperate. After winning 135 seats in the assembly elections, they are making politically motivated statements. They are trying to tarnish the character of the Chief Minister.

A direct target on the opposition

It is difficult for them to tolerate me becoming the Chief Minister for the second time. CM Siddaramaiah said that the opposition did not make noise about the problems of the people of the state in the House and the ruling party MLAs raised the problems of the public and discussed them. From all this, it is clear that the opposition parties had no issue except misusing the session to tarnish the character of the Chief Minister.

He said that BJP and JD(S) have lost the trust of the people. These people could not win more seats in the Lok Sabha elections than last time. We have got 13 percent more votes in this election than the last Lok Sabha election. Disappointed by this, they have again adopted the wrong path to gain the trust of the people.

Kumaraswamy hit back

Reacting to the allegations levelled against him by Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah related to land allotment, Union minister and senior JD(S) leader H.D. Kumaraswamy on Friday said the game is over for the chief minister. "How long will you keep claiming to be honest? The game is over, Siddaramaiah ji. I have never misused my power like the Karnataka chief minister," Kumaraswamy said while speaking to reporters in Delhi.
