News Topical, Digital Desk : Road connectivity between Tawang and Dirang was cut off after a powerful landslide hit Arunachal Pradesh's West Kameng district on Monday. Following the landslide, a video circulating on social media showed boulders rolling down hills, causing panic and chaos among commuters, who reportedly reversed their vehicles and started honking.

Passengers were terrified as rocks fell due to the landslide. In the viral video, people can be heard honking their horns while trying to reverse their vehicles.

About 120 metres of the road was blocked due to the landslide. The road is strategically important for both civilian and military movement as it connects the border areas of Tawang district.

In a similar incident, a massive landslide hit the National Highway-2 between Nagaland capital Kohima and Wokha town on Monday, completely blocking vehicular movement on the busy route connecting several districts of the state. The landslide was triggered due to incessant heavy rains, causing huge boulders to fall on the highway.
