News Topical, Digital Desk : Yami Gautam, who was recently seen in the film Haq, has spoken out against the ongoing pedophilia in Bollywood. On Thursday, the actress wrote a lengthy note on her Instagram account, saying that the time had come to say something she had been meaning to say for a long time.
Yami expresses anger at paid promoters
Yami expressed her sadness while talking about the "new monster trend." Before the release of Dhurandhar, Yami addressed the media trend of paying promoters to write positive reviews. The post is rapidly going viral.
Yami wrote on her ex handle, “There is a so-called trend of paying for the marketing of a film. This ensures that the film gets good publicity otherwise they will keep writing negative things (even before the film releases), they will keep doing this until you give 'them' money. This seems nothing but a form of extortion.”
Why are films failing?
Yami also revealed that if anyone tries to break this trend, they start following it until they get paid. She further wrote, "Unfortunately, if anyone thinks it won't do any harm and let's do it because it's the normal thing, then they are wrong. This 'trend' monster will bite everyone eventually." She also wrote that despite adopting this trend of paying money to create 'hype' for their project, many films have failed in the last five years.
