News Topical, Digital Desk : "Aashiqui 2" launched Shraddha Kapoor into Bollywood. Her acting and innocence were widely praised. She subsequently appeared in films like Ek Villain and Half Girlfriend. However, seeing Shraddha portray an anti-heroine for the first time surprised everyone.

This anti-heroine film was Apoorva Lakhia 's "Haseena Parkar." Shraddha was seen playing a gangster for the first time. This was a positive development for her career, but you probably don't know that the director was criticized for it.

Casting Shraddha Kapoor proved costly for the director

Apoorva Lakhia, who directed "Haseena Parkar," revealed in a recent interview that he initially received an offer to make a film on Dawood Ibrahim, but much of the work had already been done. He was then asked to meet with Haseena Parkar and her family, and thus, the Haseena Parkar biopic was created.

But when Shraddha was cast in the film, the reaction was shocking. Speaking to Rediff, Apurva said:

When I cast him, everyone cursed me out. When the first look came out, everyone said genius.

This heroine was the first choice for Haseena Parkar

Apoorva Lakhia also revealed that Shraddha Kapoor was not the original choice for the role of Haseena Parkar. Sonakshi Sinha was cast first. He explained:

Sonakshi Sinha truly fits the role of Haseena. When we started shooting with her, we initially considered casting another heroine to play her younger version, but then dates fell through. We decided there was no point in waiting because the script was good and we wanted to make the film. That's when I contacted Shraddha.

Although "Haseena Parkar" was a box office flop, Shraddha Kapoor was widely praised for her performance. Apoorva Lakhia will soon be releasing "Battle of Galwan" with Salman Khan, which hits theaters on April 17th.
