What did Devendra Fadnavis say on the merger of NCP?
CM Fadnavis said on Sunday (February 1) that if discussions about the merger of the two factions of the NCP were in the final stages, the late Ajit Pawar would have informed him about it. He said, "Can NCP merger talks be finalized without our knowledge? We are not aware of the February 12th date that is being touted as the date for the formal announcement of the merger."
The CM also said that the NCP is an independent party that makes its own decisions, but as an ally of the BJP, it is expected to consult before moving forward. If Ajit Pawar was working on a merger, would he have done so without taking the BJP into confidence?
