News Topical, Digital Desk : Nineteen years later, a major verdict has been reached in the infamous double murder case in Lucknow, the capital of Uttar Pradesh. The Lucknow MP-MLA court has acquitted all the accused, including Gosaiganj MLA Abhay Singh, in the murder of Shatrughan Singh alias Chhotu and his servant Jitendra Tripathi, which took place on March 31, 2007, at the Purvanchal Tent House in Bazarkhala. Besides Abhay Singh, the court also acquitted Ravindra alias Rajju, Ajay Pratap Singh alias Ajay Sipahi, and Firoz Ahmed.

This court decision has raised many questions after such a long-running case. The victim's side has expressed disappointment with the court's decision and has threatened to appeal to the High Court. However, Abhay Singh has expressed satisfaction with the court's decision.

What was the whole matter?

It's worth noting that the brutal murder of two young men at the Purvanchal Tent House in Bazarkhala on March 31, 2007, shook the entire city. The deceased included Shatrughan Singh alias Chhotu and his servant, Jitendra Tripathi. A murder case was filed against Gosaiganj MLA Abhay Singh, Ravindra alias Rajju, Ajay Pratap Singh alias Ajay Sipahi, and Firoz Ahmed, among other accused, in this double murder case.

The court proceedings lasted for 19 years

After a 19-year legal battle, the Special MP-MLA Court in Lucknow acquitted all the accused. The court ruled that the evidence and witnesses presented in the case were insufficient, clearing Abhay Singh and the other accused of all charges.

The victim will go to the High Court

The victim's side has raised questions about the court's acquittal of the accused. Their lawyer stated that they will appeal the decision in the High Court. Abhay Singh, meanwhile, called it a victory for justice. He said, "We were innocent from the beginning and the court has given us justice after 19 years."

Currently, this matter has gained momentum in political circles outside the court. Abhay Singh is the same MLA who rebelled against the Samajwadi Party and voted for the BJP candidate in the Rajya Sabha elections. While no one has yet issued a statement, discussions have already intensified within the party.
