News Topical, Digital Desk : The awarding of the contract for installing steel railings at the Banke Bihari Temple in Mathura, Uttar Pradesh, to a Muslim contractor, Salim Ahmed (Kanika Construction), has sparked controversy. Local saints and other members of the public have launched protests. Falahari Maharaj has written to Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, demanding the cancellation of the contract and an investigation.
As the issue escalates, work has yet to begin, and local authorities have yet to comment. However, the temple's monks and Brij residents have demonstrated their intentions by protesting.
What is the whole matter?
It's worth noting that work is underway to install steel railings in the Banke Bihari temple corridor and complex. Contractor Salim Ahmed is installing them, and the local saint community has expressed their objection. Falahari Maharaj has sent a letter to Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath , stating, "If beef eaters and opponents of Sanatan Dharma come to the place where Lord Radha-Krishna performed the Maharas and the leela of stealing butter, and where Banke Bihari resides, the people of Braj will not tolerate it. Even our Krishna Kanhaiya will be displeased."
He further stated that these people are against Sanatan Dharma and call Hindus infidels. Such people will not be allowed to enter within one kilometer of the temple premises. Falahari Maharaj said that there is no shortage of Sanatan contractors, so why were the contracts given to descendants of the Mughals? Those who destroy temples in Mathura, Kashi, and Ayodhya and offer namaz.
Request for cancellation of contract
Along with this, there are demands for an investigation into the awarding of the contract and its cancellation. Allegations are being made that the contractor obtained the contract by concealing his identity. Local residents, priests, and devotees visiting the temple are also protesting this issue.
At present, no official or contractor has commented on this matter, even though the issue has now escalated into a full-blown controversy.
