News Topical, Digital Desk : A massive fire has broken out in a textile market in Surat, Gujarat. According to reports, the fire occurred in the Raj Textile Market in the Parvat Patia area of the city. More than 15 fire brigade vehicles are on the scene to extinguish the blaze.
Surat's Chief Fire Officer, Basant Pareek, said that approximately 20 to 22 fire tenders arrived. The fire has been completely brought under control, and cooling operations are underway. It's impossible to enter the warehouse, as there's a lot of material inside. Cooling operations are underway, which will take some time. Approximately 100 to 125 fire officers and personnel are engaged.
Due to the location of the textile market, the fire took longer to control. Two fire department employees suffered minor injuries while extinguishing the fire and were admitted to SMIMER Hospital. Both are reported to be in stable condition. The cause of the fire is unknown. The fire started on the top floor and quickly spread to the upper floors. An investigation is underway to determine how the fire started.
