News Topical, Digital Desk : The five- to six-day-old carcass of a male tiger was found in bushes in Madhya Pradesh's Sagar district on Sunday. It is suspected that it was electrocuted. The area where the tiger's carcass was found, between the villages of Hilgan and Khand, adjacent to the Dhana Range of the South Forest Division, is a revenue area. Residents claim the tiger died elsewhere and was brought here and dumped.
No injury marks were found on the tiger's body
The dead tiger is estimated to be five to six years old. There were no visible injuries or missing limbs. Officials said a post-mortem will be conducted on Monday, which will determine the cause of death.
DFO Varun Yadav arrived at the scene with forest staff at 4 p.m. A team of forensic experts from the Veerangna Rani Durgavati Tiger Reserve (Nauradehi) was also called in, but the investigation was unable to be conducted due to darkness.
