News Topical, Digital Desk : District Magistrate Santosh Kumar Sharma of Maharajganj, Uttar Pradesh, conducted a surprise inspection of the Arogya Mela Primary Health Centres organised at PHC Bagapar and PHC Chowk on Saturday (7 September) afternoon. During the inspection of the District Magistrate, 43 patients were examined at the Arogya Mela at Chowk PHC Centre and essential medicines were also distributed to them. 

The District Magistrate got his own BP checked at the health ATM. He also checked the medicine stock. During the checking, when the maintenance was found to be lacking and the medicine Dicyclomine Syrup was found in stock despite it expiring in February 2025, the District Magistrate reprimanded the pharmacist and directed the Chief Medical Officer to take immediate action. 

Pharmacist transferred on the instructions of DM

On the instructions of the District Magistrate, the CMO withheld one increment of Pharmacist Ramesh and transferred him to Primary Health Center Farenda with immediate effect. Apart from this, the District Magistrate issued a warning to MOIC Dr. Ram Swaroop and directed him to improve his working style. 

The District Magistrate directed the CMO to issue an SOP for distribution of medicines to patients only after checking the stock of medicines. The District Magistrate also directed an audit of the medicines available in all health centers.

The District Magistrate gave these instructions

The District Magistrate directed to dispose of the broken furniture and other unusable items in the office buildings by auction. The District Magistrate also talked to the patients during the inspection. Tetra Devi of village Maheshpur was admitted due to stomach pain, she told the District Magistrate that she got relief after treatment.

During the inspection of Bagapar PHC centre, health check-up of 24 patients was done and essential medicines were distributed. CBC machine and health ATM were installed three years ago but were found to be non-functional, on which the District Magistrate expressed displeasure and directed to make the machines functional immediately. Along with this, he directed to stop the salary increment of the Superintendent in charge. 

DM expressed dissatisfaction over lack of cleanliness

He expressed dissatisfaction over the lack of cleanliness and gave strict instructions to keep the health center premises clean. The District Magistrate also interacted with the patients. During the inspection, two admitted women were found to have delivered their babies, Khushboo from village Baherwa and Nisha from village Kevalapur. A total of 11 employees were working at the health center.

The District Magistrate gave strict instructions and asked to improve the arrangements at the health centres. The District Magistrate said that if any employee or doctor is negligent in providing health services, strict action will be taken against him. 

The District Magistrate directed to audit the medicines available at all the health centres, their expiry date etc. and submit a report. The District Magistrate said that quality health care is the top priority of the government and ensuring it is the most important task of everyone. During the inspection, CMO Dr. Shrikant Shukla, Dr. KP Singh, Dr. Aashray Singh and other employees were present.
