Jammu: Two groups of infiltrators were seen near the Line of Control (LoC) in Akhnoor and Sunderbani sectors of Jammu and Kashmir. Army personnel have completely foiled the plans of the suspects. A search operation was launched in the surrounding area.
Surveillance done through drones
Army personnel opened fire at around 1.30 am after detecting suspicious movement of three to four intruders in a forward area in Battal sector of Akhnoor on the outskirts of Jammu. A large-scale search operation was launched in the area. Additional forces were deployed to establish a tight cordon and surveillance was kept through drones.
Firing done as soon as suspicious activity was seen
Army personnel also fired a few rounds at around 12.30 am in the night after noticing suspicious activity in a forward area in the Sunderbani-Nowshera sector of Rajouri district. Searches are also going on in the area along the Line of Control. Security has been beefed up across Jammu and Kashmir in view of the fifth anniversary of the abrogation of Article 370, which gave special status to the erstwhile state of Jammu and Kashmir, on Monday.
The arrested overground workers were identified
The arrested overground workers have been identified as Zubair Ahmad Dar son of Ghulam Hassan resident of Dogripora and Aijaz Nazir Magray son of Nazir Ahmad resident of Lasipora Pulwama.
