News Topical, Digital Desk : On Congress Parliamentary Party leader Sonia Gandhi's support for Iran, Israeli Ambassador to India Reuven Azarm has said that people have the right to their opinion but it is completely unacceptable to ignore three decades of Iranian aggression in the region.

"Politicians should be aware. We were disappointed to see that she (Sonia Gandhi) did not condemn the October attacks as they should have been condemned," Reuven said in an interview.

Deposition of Reuven

"People have a right to their opinion, but we should focus more on reality and facts, so that everyone understands that Iran is the aggressor. When Iran was about to acquire weapons to destroy us, Israel had no choice but to act," he said.

On a question about talks between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Iranian President, Reuven said that if Iran is committed to refraining from trying to destroy other countries, is committed to ending its nuclear and ballistic missile programmes and is committed to stopping its aggression in the region, then we can certainly go back to diplomacy.

Will Israel eliminate Khamenei?

When asked if Israel is close to eliminating Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, Reuven said that we are not leaving any option. On Iran's claim of nuclear sites being safe in US attacks, the Israeli ambassador said that Iran is trying to downplay the attacks on it.

He said that the Israeli and American attacks have been quite accurate. Even though Iran has removed the enriched uranium, we have destroyed the centers that enriched uranium. Despite the fact that they still have enriched uranium, it is only going to put them in danger.

Reuven's statement about India

Reuven said that they should send that uranium out of the country. If they refuse, they will face further attacks from Israel or America. He also said that India is seen as a good and positive country of peace and development in West Asia.
