News Topical, Digital Desk : Prime Minister Narendra Modi celebrated Diwali with naval personnel on INS Vikrant. In his address, he described it as his good fortune. PM Modi said that this Diwali is special for him. He said, “During the festival of Diwali, everyone feels like celebrating Diwali with their family. I too have got into the habit of celebrating Diwali with my family members and hence, I go to celebrate Diwali with you who are my family members. I am also celebrating this Diwali with my family members.”

He said, "The sun's rays shining on the ocean waters are the Diwali lamps lit by the soldiers... these are our divine garlands of lamps. I am fortunate to be celebrating Diwali among the Navy personnel. The Diwali celebrated on board Vikrant is difficult to describe in words. No poet can express those feelings the way the soldiers here are."
Diwali became special in many ways.
PM Modi said, "The heights of your penance and dedication are such that I could not live them but I could feel them. I could feel your heartbeat and breath. My Diwali has become special in many ways." He further said, “I remember, when INS Vikrant was being handed over to the country, I had said that Vikrant is huge, vast, magnificent, Vikrant is unique, Vikrant is special too. Vikrant is not just a warship but it is a testimony to the hard work, talent, influence and commitment of 21st century India.”
Operation Sindoor was mentioned
PM Modi said, "The name of INS Vikrant is the one that can shatter the enemy's courage. I want to salute our armed forces on this occasion. The tremendous coordination between the three services forced Pakistan to surrender so quickly during Operation Sindoor. Once again, I salute the three services from the site of INS Vikrant's dedication and valor."
What did PM Modi say on Naxalism?
In his address, Prime Minister Narendra Modi also mentioned the eradication of Naxalism. He said that due to the bravery and courage of our security forces, the country has achieved a major achievement in recent years. That achievement is the elimination of Maoist terror. PM Modi said that many congratulations to the police personnel. They have done a great job in eliminating Naxalites. He said that 10 years ago, 125 districts in the country were affected by Maoism, but now this number has reduced to only 11. Of those 11, only three remain where their influence remains.
It is very important for the army to be self-reliant
PM Modi said that when the enemy is in front, when there is a threat of war, then the one who has the strength to fight on its own always has the upper hand. For the armed forces to become strong, it is very important for them to be self-reliant. These brave soldiers were born in this soil, they have grown up in this soil. The mother from whose lap they were born, that mother also grew up in this soil and hence they have the inspiration to die for this soil, to sacrifice themselves for the honor and respect of this soil. The strength that lies in your being Indian, the strength that lies in your connection with the soil of India, similarly, as every tool, weapon, every part of ours becomes Indian, our strength will increase.
