News Topical, Digital Desk : Godrej Aerospace has handed over the first human-rated L110 stage Vikas engine to ISRO for the Gaganyaan mission , Godrej Aerospace announced on Thursday.

The human-rated L110 Vikas engine has been specifically designed to meet the safety standards required for manned space missions . This engine will be used in the LVM- 3 rocket .

 Under the Gaganyaan mission, the Indian Space Research Organisation ( ISRO ) is preparing to send Indian astronauts into space for the first time in 2027 on an indigenous rocket .

"This is not only a milestone for the Godrej Enterprises Group but also a matter of national pride," Manek  Behramkamdin , Executive Vice President, Aerospace Business, Godrej Enterprises , said in the statement.

This reaffirms our long-standing partnership with ISRO and the Liquid  Propulsion  Systems Centre ( LPSC ). Godrej has been contributing to India's space programme for over four decades by supplying engines and other components for landmark missions including Chandrayaan and NISAR.
