Ali Larijani, one of Iran 's most influential leaders, was killed in an airstrike on Tuesday morning (March 17, 2026). The attack took place at his daughter's home in the Pardis area near Tehran. Iran's Supreme National Security Council confirmed that Larijani, his son Morteza, his security deputy Alireza Bayat, and several bodyguards were also killed in the attack.
