News Topical, Digital Desk : Following the recent widespread cancellations of IndiGo flights, the central government has decided to curtail IndiGo's winter flight schedule. Civil Aviation Minister K. Ram Mohan Naidu announced this on Monday.

These slots will be given to other airlines

Civil Aviation Minister K Ram Mohan Naidu on Monday said the government will cut IndiGo's winter flight schedule and allocate them to other operators following the airline's recent massive operational disruptions. 

₹745 crore refunded to passengers

"We will reduce IndiGo's routes. They are currently operating 2,200 flights. We will definitely reduce them," Naidu told Doordarshan news channel. The minister also said that Rs 745 crore has been paid for 7,30,655 PNRs cancelled from December 1 to 8 (till 5 pm). 

6,000 bags were returned 

He said that 6,000 of the 9,000 passengers' bags have been returned. The remaining bags will be returned tonight or by Tuesday morning. Passengers' luggage was left at the airport after a large number of IndiGo flights were canceled simultaneously.
