News Topical, Digital Desk : Defense Minister Rajnath Singh will launch the first flight of the indigenous Tejas Mk1A fighter aircraft from the Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) facility in Nashik on October 17. On this special occasion, he will also inaugurate the third production line of the Tejas Mk1A and the second production line of the Hindustan Turbo Trainer (HTT-40). It should be noted that the Defense Ministry recently signed a major contract with HAL worth ₹62,370 crore.

Historic deal worth Rs 62,370 crore signed

It should be noted that the Ministry of Defense recently signed a major contract with HAL worth ₹62,370 crore, under which the Indian Air Force will receive 97 Tejas Mk1A aircraft. These 97 aircraft include 68 single-seat fighters and 29 twin-seat trainer aircraft. The contract also includes related equipment and support systems. This agreement is a strong step forward in the 'Make in India' and 'Atmanirbhar Bharat' campaigns, marking another milestone in India's global self-reliance in defense production.

Tejas Mk1A will replace aircraft like MiG-21
