News Topical, Digital Desk : For the past several months, Donald Trump has adopted a tough stance on India. The US has imposed the highest tariff in the world, at 50 percent, on India. Trump has imposed stricter rules on H-1B visas, dealing a significant blow to India. However, some good news has emerged regarding trade talks between the two countries.

According to US Representative Jamieson Greer, who is negotiating the trade deal with India, the two countries are on a positive note. India has made the best offer to the US so far.

Which crops will get entry into India

During a speech in the US Congress, Greer said, “India has agreed to open its market to American products like sorghum and soybeans. A USTR team is currently in India. We are working with them to try to reduce barriers to the agricultural sector.”

Greer says that India has objected to the import of some crops. However, negotiations between the two countries are progressing well. India is an excellent alternative market for American products. We just need to find a way to trade with them.

America is looking for new markets

Referring to reducing America's dependence on China, Greer said, "We are looking for markets in South Asia and Europe. America has joined hands with many countries, including India, to help farmers. So, if any country is willing to open its market to America, then we are trying our best to talk to it."

America wants to sell ethanol to India

Greer even suggested that India could purchase ethanol from American corn and soybeans. Several other countries have also opened their markets to American ethanol. The European Union has pledged to purchase $750 billion (approximately Rs. 67 lakh crores) worth of energy from the United States, including biofuels.
