News Topical, Digital Desk : Pakistan's Defense Minister Khawaja Asif recently gave an interview. This interview has now become a thorn in his side. In this interview, he made several claims, including that Imran Khan is operating his Twitter handle from jail. He had previously alleged that his former account was being operated from India.
The Pakistani Defense Minister became upset when questioned about his own conflicting claims regarding Imran Khan. He now faces tough questions about his baseless and contradictory allegations.
Sharif's minister lands in trouble after giving interview
It is worth noting that British-American journalist Mehdi Hasan recently interviewed Pakistan's Defense Minister Khawaja Asif. During this interview, Asif first claimed that Imran Khan was operating his Twitter account from Pakistan's Adiala Jail.
Soon after, when Hasan confronted Asif about his previous claim, the minister tried to backtrack and stammered while responding. It should be noted that Pakistan's defense minister had previously claimed that Imran Khan's ex-account was being operated from India.
What did Asif Khawaja say on Imran's question?
It should be noted that in response to a question about Imran Khan, Pakistan's Defense Minister Asif Khawaja said that he was operating his Twitter account from his prison cell. Hasan interrupted him and asked, “You said he was operating from India. You said India was controlling his Twitter account. You made two different allegations. Is Imran Khan in the prison cell or India?”
In response, Khawaja Asif said that he was either operating from a cell or at least should reveal who was running the prison cell. When questioned about his claim, Asif said, "We received this information through a source. We cannot publicly share information from reliable sources."
Imran Khan is in jail since 2023
It is noteworthy that Mehdi Hasan questioned Pakistan's Defense Minister Khawaja Asif about the current Pakistani government's treatment of the founder of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI). Former Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan has been imprisoned since 2023 and faces several charges.
