"Immediately stop attacks on Christians," Trump is about to attack this country; strict instructions given to the US Defense Department.

News Topical, Digital Desk : US President Donald Trump said on Saturday that he has ordered the Defense Department to prepare for possible military action in Nigeria. Trump accused the Nigerian government of failing to stop violence against Christians, a charge Nigeria denies.

Trump wrote on social media that the US would immediately halt all aid to Nigeria and warned the government to act swiftly. He said that if necessary, the US would go to this notorious country and eliminate terrorists.

Trump posted

" I am ordering the Department of Defense to be prepared for action. If we strike, it will be swift, deadly, and precise, just like these terrorists attacked our beloved Christians, " Trump wrote in his post.

US Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth also shared Trump's post, writing, " We are preparing. Either the Nigerian government protects its Christians or we will eliminate the terrorists behind these atrocities. "

However, the violence situation in Nigeria is complex. Both Christians and Muslims are victims of violence. Many incidents are not religiously motivated, but rather related to conflicts over land and resources between farmers and herders.

Nigeria is a CPC country.

Trump on Friday added Nigeria to his list of Countries of Particular Concern ( CPC) , calling it a country with serious religious freedom violations . He said Christianity in Nigeria is facing an existential crisis.

Nigeria responded

In response, Nigerian President Bola Tinubu said the allegations did not reflect the reality in the country. He wrote, " We are committed to ensuring the freedom and security of all religions and are cooperating with the international community, including the United States. 

Tinubu's press secretary, Bayo Onanuga, said the US criticism was exaggerated. He said, " In our country, both Christians and Muslims  are attacked. What we need from the US is not condemnation, but military cooperation in fighting terrorism."
