Akhilesh Yadav asked- Why is the Election Commission not responding to the affidavits?
Samajwadi Party national president and former Uttar Pradesh chief minister Akhilesh Yadav on Monday, September 1, 2025, termed the Election Commission as 'Jugaad Commission' and raised the question as to why it is not responding to more than 17 thousand affidavits of SP? Kannauj MP Yadav taunted and said, 'When the 'Jugaad Commission' can catch its own scam of Rs 1.25 crore with AI (Artificial Intelligence), then why is it not responding to the remaining 17986 affidavits after responding to only 14 affidavits out of 18,000 given by us?' In fact, a news has claimed that 1.25 crore voters have been reduced in view of the Panchayat elections through AI. It has also been claimed that duplicate voters have been identified in different villages through AI, whose names have been removed from the voter list. The country's Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar had termed the opposition's allegations of 'vote theft' and other irregularities as false in a press conference last month.
FIR registered for hoisting Palestine flag
Police have registered an FIR against three named and four unidentified youths (total seven people) in the case of allegedly hoisting the Palestinian flag by removing the national flag tricolor on a government school in Phool Behad police station area of Lakhimpur Kheri district. Police gave this information on Monday. According to the police, it has been alleged in the FIR that on Sunday in Lakha Aliganj village of Bijua block, three youths named Saddam, Baura and Ananne along with their four other companions removed the tricolor on the building of an upper primary school and allegedly hoisted the Palestinian flag.
Deputy CM Keshav Prasad Maurya took a dig at Akhilesh
Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister and senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Keshav Prasad Maurya on Monday targeted Samajwadi Party (SP) chief Akhilesh Yadav, saying that Yadav's condition in the 'Vote Rights Yatra' was like 'neither in three nor in thirteen'. Using a popular idiom, Maurya said in a post on 'X' on Monday, "In the completely unsuccessful 'Vote Rights Yatra' in Bihar, the condition of SP Bahadur Shri Akhilesh Yadav was like 'neither in three nor in thirteen'." The idiom "neither in three nor in thirteen" means that which has nothing to do with, or which is completely irrelevant to anything. Maurya said in the post, "The party which has no past, no present and no future on the land of Bihar. Their relation with Bihar is limited only to kinship with Shri Lalu Prasad Yadav's family. The people of Bihar are eagerly waiting for their hospitality. Its example will be seen in the upcoming elections."
165 year old law will be changed in UP
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath stressed the need to bring a new law in place of the 165-year-old Society Registration Act, 1860, made during the British period. A statement said that the CM has emphasized on making contemporary and practical provisions to strengthen the registration, renewal and transparent management of the properties of entities registered as societies. Discussing the proposed Act in a meeting held in the presence of Finance Minister Suresh Khanna, the CM said that such provisions should be made in it, which ensure transparency.
