However, her mother was not at all supportive. Sayani left her corporate job to enter films, which angered her mother. During a conversation on the program "Cyrus Sage," Sayani revealed that when she enrolled at FTII to study acting, her mother did not speak to her for a month.

Mother threatened her daughter

Sayani recalled her early days at FTII when she enrolled. "My mother told me she would slit her wrists if I went there," she said. "I couldn't believe it. I was bored. I made a lot of money that year because I loved working, but it wasn't something I had chosen for my entire life."

Sayani revealed that her mother wouldn't let her go to theater practice and would lock her in her room. She had a very negative image of actresses in her mind, calling them prostitutes. Sayani explained that she kept her mother away from this for a few years after her admission.
