This causes them to gain unnecessary weight and causes tooth decay . Anyway, babies get natural sweetness from fruits and this is a healthy way to give them sweetness, but before six months, they should not be given anything other than mother's milk.

What do experts say

Dr. Ajay Vinod, a pediatrician from NCR, says that nothing should be given to a child before six months. Especially giving honey to children below 12 months of age can be dangerous, because it is very concentrated and children cannot digest it. Their digestive system is weak. Children should be given only mother's milk till the age of six months and after that, solid food should be started slowly.
