News Topical, Digital Desk : A convoy of security forces was attacked in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan. The massive explosion (Pakistan IED Blast) sent shockwaves through the entire area. It was an IED blast, seriously injuring 16 policemen.

Pakistani Army and Frontier Police personnel were returning from a Loni post late Monday night when the blast occurred near Dera Ismail Khan district. It was a suicide attack.

How did the IED blast happen?

A suicide bomber detonated explosives near the main gate of a cadet college in the Waziristan district, bordering Afghanistan. Six civilians were injured in the attack. According to Pakistani police, the Tehreek-e-Pakistan (TTP) group carried out the attack.

The Pakistani government had banned the TTP

Pakistan banned the TTP last year. Meanwhile, terrorist attacks in Pakistan are on the rise. Suicide attacks frequently target military personnel, police, and army personnel in areas bordering Afghanistan.

According to the Pakistani Army, "Security forces have killed 20 militants during two separate encounters in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa a few days ago."
