
News Topical, Digital Desk : The tariff dispute between the United States and China appears to be escalating. On Monday, US President Donald Trump warned China that if Chinese President Xi Jinping doesn't strike a deal with them, they will impose a 155 percent tariff on China.
Actually, this statement of the US President has come at a time when Trump signed an essential minerals agreement with Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese at the White House.
Will impose 155% tariff on China: Trump
Before his bilateral talks with the Australian Prime Minister, President Trump said, “I think China respects us a lot. They're paying us money in the form of tariffs. They're paying 55% tariffs, that's a lot of money. China could pay 155% by November 1st unless we make a deal.”
Trump said – many countries have been taking advantage of America
President Trump said that the United States has struck trade deals with many countries. He claimed that deals have been struck with many countries that have previously taken advantage of the United States.
The US President further said, "I hope we're going to have a great fair trade deal, probably with Chinese President Xi Jinping. I think most of you will be there. It will be very exciting."
