News Topical, Digital Desk : Shocking news has emerged from Guntur, Andhra Pradesh. A 38-year-old female doctor committed suicide after failing to obtain a US visa. She had been suffering from depression for some time due to her visa application being rejected, a police official said on Sunday.

Police said the doctor's family had gone to her house on Saturday after receiving a call from her maid. When the door didn't open despite repeated knocking, they broke it down and found the woman dead.

Doctor commits suicide after visa rejection

Police said that when the female doctor did not answer the door, her maid informed her family. The body was handed over to the family after the postmortem.

Based on preliminary information, the official said it is suspected that the woman died Friday night from an overdose of sleeping pills or a self-injection. He added that the exact cause of death is not yet known and they are awaiting the postmortem report.

A suicide note was also recovered from the woman's home, which mentioned depression and the rejection of her US visa application.

The female doctor was depressed after her visa was rejected.

The doctor's mother, Lakshmi, said her daughter was eagerly waiting for a job in the US but was depressed after her visa was rejected.

Rohini lived in Padma Rao Nagar, Hyderabad, because there were libraries nearby. Lakshmi said she wanted to specialize in internal medicine.

The doctor's mother told PTI, "She was a bright student and completed her MBBS in Kyrgyzstan between 2005 and 2010. She had an excellent academic record, and had big dreams for her future."
