News Topical, Digital Desk : Moharram In Arrah: Today, i.e. Wednesday, is the sixth day of the 10-day long Moharram, celebrated in the memory of Imam Hussain. In Bihar too, mourning processions are being taken out at various places for Moharram. In Arrah, Bihar, a mourning procession known as "Bibi Ka Dola" was taken out in the name of the martyrs of Karbala. This tradition of taking out 'Bibi Ka Dola' in Arrah city is more than 200 years old.

Imam's daughter's wedding took place in Karbala 

It is said that during the battle of Karbala, one of Imam Hussain's daughters was married to his own cousin brother Mohammad Qasim Alaihissalam, who was Imam Hussain's nephew. The wedding took place at night and in the morning Imam Hussain's nephew Shahzada Qasim went to fight with Yazid's army to be martyred in the path of Allah. 
Qasim was the son of Imam Hussain's elder brother Hazrat Imam Hasan, after the marriage Qasim was martyred and the one night bride, i.e. Imam Hussain's daughter Kubra became a widow. In her memory, Bibi Ka Dola is taken out in Ara.

Women of all religions, Hindus and Muslims, visit this Bibi Ka Dola and ask for their wishes, every wish made from the heart is fulfilled here, this is the reason why the crowd of devotees at the Imambara of Deputy Sher Ali of Ara is a sight to behold on 6th Muharram. There is a large crowd of women because this is 'Bibi Ka Dola', hence women reach here more. 

After leaving the Imambara, Bibi's palanquin reaches various squares and intersections of the city. This procession which starts from Mahajan Toli No.1 of Ara city, passes through Mahadeva Road, Dharman Chowk, Gopali Chowk, Sheesh Mahal Chowk, Bichli Road and ends at the Imambara of Dipli Sher Ali situated at Dharman Chowk, Mahadeva Road. On this occasion, Nauhe Khan Reyaz Hussain and Syed Hasnain recited "Hussain is the support of broken hearts", "Hussain is the star of humanity's eye" and "Hussain is still being discussed in the world", every community is saying that he is our Hussain", due to which the entire atmosphere became sad.

Professor Syed Ejaz Hussain from Vishwabharati University, who was a part of the procession, said that this procession in the memory of Imam Hussain has been taking place in Ara for more than 200 years. People of all religions participate in it. They have faith, which is visible during the procession. An example of Hindu-Muslim harmony is also seen in this procession. Be it Hindu or Muslim, everyone waits for the Bibi's Dola, as soon as the Dola reaches the streets of the city, people bow down in devotion. 

Mourning is done to commemorate a tragic event

Let us tell you that in memory of the martyrdom of Hazrat Imam Hussain and his 72 companions in Karbala, Nauha is recited and mourning is done in the procession. People of Shia community especially wear black clothes and mourn by doing Matam and Nauha in memory of this tragic incident. People of all communities also join the procession in memory of this tragic incident and extend their full cooperation. The district administration also makes tight security arrangements on this occasion.
