News Topical, Digital Desk : There has been a major change in leadership at Hindustan Unilever Ltd. (HUL). The current CEO and MD Rohit Java is resigning from his post on 31 July 2025. Priya Nair has been appointed as the new CEO and MD of the company in his place. She will take charge from 1 August 2025 and has been appointed for a term of 5 years.

He laid a strong foundation for HUL's growth by implementing the 'Aspire Strategy' and achieved volume-based growth even in difficult situations. 

Who is Priya Nair - She has been associated with the Unilever Group for nearly 30 years. Currently, she is President, Beauty & Wellbeing at Unilever, and is handling a portfolio of €13 billion (i.e. more than ₹1.15 lakh crores). Priya has led brands like Dove, Rin and Comfort. She has also done an Executive Leadership Program from Harvard Business School. As a Global CMO, she promoted AI, digital commerce and social first marketing. Achieved growth through sustainability, value innovation and cost cutting in the Home Care (South Asia) unit. Apart from India, she also has experience in China, Europe and other markets. What it means for investors- Stability in governance: Priya Nair's experience and understanding of the Unilever system will help the company transition smoothly. Focus on the beauty and wellbeing segment: The company's growth can benefit from her experience there. Trust for long-term investors: Because the stability of management in a blue chip company like HUL attracts investors. What chairman Nitin Paranjape says is that Rohit Java took the company forward in challenging circumstances.
