This cancer spreads rapidly

A study by Weill Cornell Medicine (published in the journal Science) has found that the fat called Linoleic Acid present in these oils can promote a dangerous type of breast cancer called Triple-Negative Breast Cancer. This cancer spreads very fast and its medicines are also less effective. This research also showed that this effect was seen especially in those cases where a specific protein (FABP5) was high in the body.

 

Experiment done on rats

Scientists said that TNBC (Triple-Negative Breast Cancer) is the fastest spreading and most dangerous type of breast cancer. Hormonal medicines do not work on it. Scientists conducted an experiment on mice. The tumors in the bodies of mice that were given food containing linoleic acid grew more rapidly. This effect was seen only in Triple-Negative breast cancer, not in other types.

Professor Dr. John Blenis, who leads cancer research, said that research tells us that the same type of diet is not right for everyone. Some people should pay special attention to their food items. He also said that Linoleic Acid is found in abundance in sunflower and soybean oil, pork and eggs.
