News Topical, Digital Desk : A tragic incident has emerged from the historic Sinhagad Fort in Pune, Maharashtra . The body of a missing laborer was found in the Kalyan Darwaza Valley on Thursday evening, causing widespread panic in the area. The deceased has been identified as Dashrath Shankar Dhotre (a native of Shrirampur, Ahmednagar district).
According to information received, Dashrath Dhotre had arrived at Sinhagad Fort in Pune four days ago for work . He was working with four or five other laborers under a contractor appointed by the Archaeological Department for work at the Narveer Tanaji Malusare Samadhi area. All the laborers were living within the fort premises. Dashrath suddenly went missing on Wednesday midnight.
Tourists found a dead body in the valley
Colleagues initially suspected he had returned to his village, but they were unable to contact him for a full day. Meanwhile, on Thursday evening, tourists visiting the Kalyan Darwaja area spotted a body in the valley. They immediately informed the relevant authorities.
Police registered a case and started investigation
Upon receiving the information, Tanaji Bhosale and his team from the Haveli Disaster Management Team arrived at the scene and retrieved the body from the valley. The body was then handed over to the local Rajgarh police. The police have registered a case and launched an investigation.
The exact cause of death will only be known after the post-mortem report is released. The incident has caused an atmosphere of mourning in the Sinhagad area, and has caused concern among workers and local residents. Police are investigating the matter from all angles.
