News Topical, Digital Desk : Honeymoon murder case:  East Khasi Hills Superintendent of Police Vivek Sim has made a major revelation in Indore's Raja Raghuvanshi murder case and said that during the investigation, both Raj Kushwaha and Sonam Raghuvanshi have admitted to being in a relationship. Meghalaya Police said that Sonam Raghuvanshi had allegedly conspired with her lover Raj Kushwaha to kill her husband Raja Raghuvanshi, now both have accepted their relationship. The state's Special Investigation Team, which is investigating the shocking honeymoon murder, has rejected the victim's family's demand for a narco test of Sonam Raghuvanshi, saying they have all the necessary evidence.

There is no need for Narco test, evidence is enough: Police

Police said that the results of the narco-test are not admissible in court. East Khasi Hills Superintendent of Police Vivek Sim said that during the investigation, both Raj and Sonam have admitted to being in a relationship. They have already confessed to the crime. We recreated the murder scene, in which they showed us how they killed Raja Raghuvanshi. We now have evidence in this case... I don't think we should conduct a narco test at this stage.

The police also believed that Raja was murdered for this reason

Superintendent of Police Vivek Sim said, "The case is being handled with utmost care, with the focus being on building strong, admissible evidence rather than relying on mere confessions. The aim is to prepare a legally sustainable chargesheet at the earliest." The officer indicated that Sonam may have hatched the murder plot to remove her husband Raja Raghuvanshi from her life and live with Raj Kushwaha.

"Both Sonam and Raj wanted to kill Raja because they were in a relationship and due to customs they had to bring consent among the parents and others... so they thought... it is better to get rid of this person (Raja)," the officer said.

Where did the revolver, bag and jewelry go?

The Meghalaya police will now question Lokendra Tomar, who owns an infrastructure company and the flat in Indore where Sonam Raghuvanshi stayed for some time before she was arrested from Ghazipur in Uttar Pradesh. The police are gathering information as to why the bag that Sonam had left in the flat was removed. The bag reportedly contained a country-made pistol, her phone, Raja's jewellery and Rs 5 lakh in cash.

Eighth arrest in murder case, Lokendra Tomar will be questioned

The police now suspect that it was an attempt to destroy evidence and the two men have been charged with tampering with evidence. Police sources also said that so far they have been unable to recover the jewellery that Sonam Raghuvanshi had brought back from Meghalaya. Property dealer Silom James, security guard Balveer and Lokendra Tomar, the owner of the apartment where Sonam was hiding, will be produced before a court in Shillong on Thursday. Silom James and Balveer will also be brought to Shillong for questioning.
