News Topical, Digital Desk : Controversy has been brewing for quite some time regarding Manoj Bajpayee's film Ghooskhor Pandat. Netflix even removed its teaser from its website due to this. People object to the word "Pandit," leading to protests everywhere.

What did Anup Jalota suggest?

Numerous photos and videos emerged from Bhopal regarding this incident. An FIR has also been filed in Lucknow. A section of society is particularly upset by this, and the fight has now taken a legal and political turn. The use of the word "Pandit" has been called derogatory. Renowned bhajan singer Anup Jalota has also joined this wave. He has not only objected to the film's title but has also suggested a new name for the makers. Anup Jalota has said that the makers should change the title "Bhuskhor Pandit" to "Bhuskhor Pujari," because a priest is not a religion or caste; any person who performs worship can be a priest.

It is wrong to offend caste

Anup Jalota said, "Pandit is a word associated with caste and religion. It's wrong to call any caste corrupt. If the title is changed to 'Corrupt Pujari,' then anyone could be a priest...me, you, or anyone else." He further stated that priests are not a single community, but anyone who performs puja is called a pujari. Therefore, changing the title could alleviate the resentment of many and ease the difficulties surrounding the film.

It should be noted that since the teaser's release, several social and community organizations have also expressed objections to the film. They have threatened protests if corrective action is not taken. Police officials stated that the growing outrage has raised serious law and order concerns, necessitating immediate action.
