News Topical, Digital Desk : In India, rules for wearing helmets have been made keeping safety in mind so that people can follow them and stay safe, but taking bribes from the police on the basis of that has become common. This habit of the police to let the drivers go after taking bribes proved costly this time. 3 traffic police personnel were suspended on the charge of taking bribe from a Japanese tourist during helmet checking near Galleria Market in Gurugram.

This action was taken when the tourist made a video of the entire incident and shared it on social media, which quickly went viral. The case has also raised questions about India's image at the international level.

What is the whole matter?

Actually a Japanese tourist was travelling on a two-wheeler with his female companion. The woman was wearing a helmet, but the male tourist was without a helmet. During the investigation, the policemen asked for the identity card and demanded one thousand rupees.

The tourist gave two notes of Rs 500 each to the policeman, but no receipt was given. The tourist also raised the question that there were many people around without helmets, yet they were not stopped.

Video viral on social media

The Japanese tourist recorded the entire incident on video and uploaded it on social media. It is clearly visible in the video that the policemen first ask the woman for her identity card and then demand cash payment.

After this, when the tourist offered to pay through 'Visa Touch', the police refused it. After this, cash was given. This video spread rapidly on the internet and people raised serious questions on the working style of the police.
