News Topical, Digital Desk : Kannada superstar Yash's highly anticipated film "Toxic" is facing controversy after controversy. The film's 2-minute 51-second teaser, featuring a scene inside a car between Yash and a woman, has already sparked a social media uproar. Now, the women's wing of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has requested the Commission to direct the state government to remove the "Toxic" teaser.

However, the controversy surrounding Geetu Mohandas's gangster drama "Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups" doesn't end there. Social activist Dinesh Kallahalli has filed an official complaint with the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) regarding the "obscene, sensual, and morally objectionable" scenes depicted in the teaser. Read more about what he wrote in his complaint to the censor board below:

The scenes are excessively vulgar and obscene

According to a report in Hindustan Times, the social activist, in his complaint addressed to Censor Board Chairman Prasoon Joshi, wrote, “Some scenes in the teaser are highly obscene, sensual and vulgar to look at. This teaser is being circulated on social media without any age restriction, which is being viewed by children and youth as well. This content is legally unacceptable and socially harmful.”

He further argued that the content of "Toxic" violates constitutional norms. According to him, the Honorable Supreme Court has consistently held that obscenity and sexually explicit material should not be protected in any form in India.

Demands raised for a review of the trailer of 'Toxic'

In his complaint, Dinesh Kallahalli cited the Cinematography Act, 1952, and stated that the Central Board of Film Certification should be approving any film, trailer, or promotional material with a sense of decency, morality, and social responsibility. In his complaint to Prasoon Joshi, the social activist also requested that the Censor Board review the trailer and take whatever steps it deems necessary. He also urged a ban on the circulation of the Toxic teaser. He demanded legal action against the film's director, producer, and anyone associated with the film.

The teaser for "Toxic" was released on Yash's birthday (January 8). While fans loved Yash's action and swag, accusations of objectifying women have added to the film's troubles. The film is scheduled to hit theaters on January 19.
