Aamir Khan is giving date after date
According to reports, Aamir Khan and filmmaker Rajkumar Hirani's Dadasaheb Phalke biopic was set to go on floors in January 2026, but now there's been a change in plans. The actor-filmmaker duo is pushing back the highly anticipated project.
Why is the film getting delayed?
According to a report in Mid Day, a new draft of the script is being prepared that aligns with the vision of both Hirani and Khan and also does justice to Phalke's journey, which made him the father of Indian cinema. Before adapting such a prominent character, Hirani wants to further refine it. Hirani and Aamir agree that the film should remain rooted in history yet feel emotionally contemporary. The rewrite aims to strike the right balance between humor and seriousness. They want to ensure that the character's journey reflects Phalke's stature. The draft will likely be finalized by February, and production will begin in late March.
