Hema Malini could not recover from the pain of losing Dharmendra
Following Dharmendra's death, his final film, "21," was released in theaters on January 1, 2026. A screening of the war drama took place in Mumbai. Everyone, including Sunny Deol and Salman Khan, attended the screening with teary eyes to see the He-Man's final film. However, Hema Malini was not seen at the screening, nor has she seen "21" yet.
In an exclusive interview with Dharmendra's Screen, Hema Malini revealed the reason she didn't see Dharmendra's last film, "Ekkis." She said, “When the film was released, I was in Mathura. I had some work to do there. I haven't seen the film yet because it would be a very emotional moment for me. My daughter was telling me the same thing. Maybe I'll watch it later, when my wounds have healed a little.”
Amitabh Bachchan's grandson played the lead role.
Directed by Sriram Raghavan, this war drama centers on the 1971 India-Pakistan War, in which 21-year-old Second Lieutenant Arun Khetarpal destroyed several enemy tanks. He was posthumously awarded India's highest gallantry award, the Param Vir Chakra. This film is a tribute to him.
Amitabh Bachchan's grandson, Agastya Nanda, plays martyr Arun Khetrapal in the film. Simar Bhatia, Jaideep Ahlawat, and Dharmendra also star in the film. Fans were left teary-eyed after watching Dharmendra's last film.
