This day also marks the beginning of the new era. For this, a huge Shivalinga is being installed in the Virat Ramayana Temple after Makar Sankranti. This day is the Chaturdashi Tithi of the Krishna Paksha of the month of Magh. On January 17th, there is a conjunction of the Moola and Purvashadha constellations.

Features of Shivalinga

The height of the world's largest Shivling to be installed in the Virat Ramayan Temple is 33 feet. The width of the Shivling is also 33 feet. The weight of this Shivling is 210 tons. There will be 1008 Shivlings in this Shivling. The length of the base pedestal of the Shivling is 36 feet. After the installation of the Shivling, the length of the base pedestal will become 56 feet. It took two years to prepare the base pedestal. The Shivling was made in Mahabalipuram, Tamil Nadu. After a journey of 47 days, the Shivling has reached the Virat Ramayan Temple located in Kaithavalia.
