Since this morning, the administration has been demolishing illegally constructed embankments along the village's main road.

In Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh, banners reading "I love Muhammad" were put up. Such banners were being posted on social media. Meanwhile, a Hindu youth from Bahiyal village commented on the social media post. This enraged the Muslims of Bahiyal village, who began vandalizing the youth's shop and nearby shops.

During this, Muslim youths also set fires. They then went to the Navratri Garba festival where the event was being held and pelted stones, creating a tense atmosphere.

Notice to 190 occupants

Following this incident, the administration issued notices to approximately 190 illegal encroachers, requiring them to submit construction-related documents within two days. After this deadline expired, the administration, under heavy police protection, has been bulldozing the encroachments since Thursday morning.

Gandhinagar Superintendent of Police Ravi Teja Vasamshetty said that a demolition drive is underway in Bahiyal village. A total of 186 commercial establishments are being targeted. The SDM, Panchayat officials, and 300 police officers are present to maintain law and order during the demolition drive. "We have identified the commercial properties of those involved in the stone-pelting incident a few days ago, and action is being taken against them today," he said.

Police taking action

Police action has been ongoing since the violent incident in Bahiyal village. Police have filed a case against 83 named individuals and 200 mob members. So far, more than 66 suspects have been arrested and sent to jail. Meanwhile, the administration is removing encroachments using bulldozers.
