Despite strict instructions from the District Magistrate, home delivery is still not possible in urban areas. The situation has become so dire that gas cylinders are available only 10 days after booking.
The District Magistrate (DM) and ADM (ADM) had instructed the tehsil administration to ensure 100% home delivery in the city, but this has had no effect. People are still forced to stand in line. Excuses are also being made, citing server failures. On Thursday, a team led by the District Supply Officer inspected agencies and asked them to ensure home delivery.
Long queues of consumers are forming at most of the city's gas stations. People have been lining up since 4 a.m. Many consumers are being turned away even after showing their booking number and delivery message. Agency employees are seen urging customers to rebook their cylinders only if they receive one.
Consumers allege that cylinders are being black-marketed, but the tehsil administration and the department are unable to take action. Many people are also reaching the district supply office with complaints about not receiving cylinders. From there, calls are being made to the concerned gas agencies.

Pawan Kumar and Arvind, who are in line, said that cylinders are being black-marketed at night. Therefore, despite receiving a booking number, they are unable to receive their cylinders.
Yayra Bano, a consumer at the Civil Lines agency, said her booking number is 446, but she hasn't received her cylinder. Lal Mohammad, a consumer at the same agency, said he received a delivery message on his mobile phone on March 17th, but he hasn't received the cylinder yet. He's being advised to rebook after visiting the agency.
Santosh Srivastava, a resident of Awas Vikas, says he has a connection at a Bharat Gas agency on Malviya Marg. He booked online, with a delivery code of 968511. His brother's delivery code is 176423.
When I arrived at the relevant agency on Thursday with my passbook and message, instead of giving me a token, the agency employee asked me to rebook. However, once a booking is made, rebooking is not possible until 30 to 35 days in advance. They said my cylinder had been sold to someone else.
