
News Topical, Digital Desk : A former Pakistani minister was killed in an explosion following a gas leak at his residence in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province on Thursday. Three people, including former Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) senator Abbas Khan Afridi, were hospitalised.
Abbas died during treatment. Afridi, who held an important position in politics, had served as a federal minister and senator. He had quit politics as well as the PML-N in 2024. Police said they have started investigating the causes of the incident.
high school bombing incident
At the same time, unknown miscreants detonated a bomb in a government high school in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province in the early hours of Friday. Several rooms collapsed due to the explosion.
No group has yet claimed responsibility for the blast. However, splinter groups of the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) are against girls' education and usually target schools.
