News Topical, Digital Desk : India's Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri is on a visit to the United States. He met with US Secretary of State Marco Rubio at the White House. The two reviewed bilateral relations, specifically discussing trade, critical minerals, defense, and the Quad. Following the meeting, it was announced that US Secretary of State Marco Rubio will visit New Delhi next month.

US Ambassador to India Sergio Gor shared a photo in his post on social media X and wrote, "Welcome to the White House Vikram Misri. Had a productive meeting with US Secretary of State Marco Rubio. We discussed our bilateral relationship, particularly trade, critical minerals, defense, and the Quad. Secretary Rubio looks forward to visiting India next month."

India-US look forward to strengthening global strategic partnership

In response to US Ambassador to India Sergio Gor, the Indian Embassy in the US wrote, "During his ongoing visit, Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri met with Secretary of State Marco Rubio today. We look forward to further deepening our cooperation in these important areas and strengthening the India-US Comprehensive Global Strategic Partnership."

Indian delegation to go to Washington

Following his meeting with US Trade Representative Jameson Greer, Ambassador Gore posted on X, "Had a very productive meeting with the US Trade Representative to discuss advancing President Donald Trump's trade priorities in South and Central Asia. India and the US have already agreed on a trade deal, and we look forward to welcoming an Indian delegation to Washington later this month."

There was also a discussion against terrorism

Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri also met FBI Director Kash Patel, during which both sides exchanged views on cooperation against terrorism, organised crime and narcotics.

Quad cooperation and future plans

US Deputy Secretary of State Allison Hooker said that through the Quad, we are finding practical ways to make both Americans and Indians more secure and prosperous.

Significantly, during his visit to the US, India's Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri held several high-level meetings within the US administration aimed at strengthening defense, trade, and strategic cooperation. In Washington, Misri met with senior officials, including Elbridge Colby and Mike Duffy, focusing on defense exchanges and industrial cooperation.

The Indian Embassy said the meetings were aimed at transforming the India-US partnership for the 21st century, including cooperation in artificial intelligence and critical minerals.
