News Topical, Digital Desk : In a time of rising LPG prices and international tensions, while ordinary families grapple with the shortage of cooking gas, a family in Balua Bahadurpur village, Jalalpur block, has been a model of self-reliance for the past four decades. The Iran-Israel and US wars have had no effect on them.
The biogas plant installed in 1983 by village resident Akhilendra Pratap Singh is still running smoothly. The gas produced from this plant is used to prepare daily meals for his family of eight at no cost.
Akhilendra Pratap Singh explains that he installed the biogas plant at a time when awareness about it was low in the village. With initial effort and understanding, he managed to operate it regularly, and today it has become a part of his family's daily routine.
Unconcerned about rising LPG prices
Today, when LPG cylinder prices are constantly rising and global conditions are impacting the pockets of ordinary people, this family is completely at peace. They neither worry about booking gas nor fear price increases.
A boon for farms too
The waste from the biogas plant is being used as fertilizer on the fields. This has not only reduced the cost of chemical fertilizers but also improved soil quality. The increased crop yield is providing additional benefits to the family. The saying "getting the mangoes and the seeds too" is coming true here.
Contribute to environmental protection
This plant is also proving beneficial for the environment. Proper use of dung and organic waste maintains cleanliness and reduces pollution. Other villagers are also inspired by this model.
Many villagers are planning to install biogas plants to become energy-reliant. This family from Balua Bahadurpur is proving that with the right approach and initiative, self-reliance can be achieved even in rural areas.
